Children's Museum

What I am trying to accomplish with my design is to connect the outdoors into the space in a massive and striking way. I chose to incorporate a river form because it causes the inhabitants to move through the space as if on a river. The center of the museum divides the age groups’ working spaces but provides an area for them to come together and share in the center. The river also begins from outdoors in order to draw attention to the façade as well as draw people in. The structure is composed of 2”x 4” panels thus creating a cost effective intervention to the existing architecture. By creating one grand continuous gesture throughout the space, it allows for the working spaces to be a more simple and durable environment for creation.
